Terms & Conditions
1. Definitions
- Client: The person or company requesting the work.
- Contractor: The electrical company or electrician undertaking the work.
- Works: The electrical installation, repair, or inspection services provided.
2. Quotation and Acceptance
- All quotations are valid for 30 days, unless otherwise stated.
- Acceptance of the quotation constitutes a binding contract.
- Any variation to the scope of work must be agreed in writing and may result in additional charges.
3. Scope of Work
- The Contractor shall carry out the work as specified in the quotation.
- Any work beyond the agreed scope will be treated as a variation and charged accordingly.
4. Payment Terms
- Payment is due:
- Domestic: On completion, unless agreed otherwise.
- Commercial: 7–30 days from invoice date (depending on agreement).
- Late payments may incur interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- Materials remain the property of the Contractor until fully paid for.
5. Access and Site Conditions
- The Client must provide safe and reasonable access to the premises.
- Any delays caused by restricted access or unsafe conditions may result in additional charges.
6. Regulations and Standards
- All work will comply with:
- BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
- Part P of the Building Regulations (for domestic work)
- Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Certification will be issued where applicable (EIC, EICR, Minor Works Certificate).
7. Guarantees and Warranties
- Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months unless otherwise stated.
- Manufacturer warranties apply to materials.
- Faults due to misuse, damage, or third-party interference are excluded.
8. Liability
- The Contractor is insured for public liability and professional indemnity.
- Liability is limited to the value of the contract unless stated otherwise.
- The Contractor is not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
9. Termination
- Either party may terminate the contract with notice if:
- The other party breaches the contract.
- The work becomes impossible due to unforeseen circumstances.
- The Client must pay for any work completed up to the point of termination.
